Dark Deception Rewrite 20Chapter Twenty: The Truth Behind The NameDark Deception Rewrite 20 by BlueDragonsBum
The next day when I saw Lucas again, he asked
why I wanted Kiba to live.
"She's different," I told him.
Then I told him about my first time with Kiba. Everything
she did for me. He seemed convinced that she wasn't what
he thought she was. I explained how I was connected to
the Shadow Syndicate; what Zane did to my parents. Why
I must be the one to kill him.
"You wish to avenge your parents deaths. Yet you can barely
protect yourself?" He said, "no matter, I will help you."
"Huh? You will?" I asked.
"Meet me in the fields to the north in an hour. We're gonna
teach you how to really fight." Lucas smiled.
He stood up and began to walk away.
"Hey! Um, thanks!" I called to him.
"Yeah yeah, just don't be late!" He called back.
I then stood up and ran off to gather some supplies. Even I
could tell that training with a bounty hunter was going to be tough. Immediately I headed to the market district, and collected the items I
Dark Deception 19Chapter Nineteen: Surprise PartyDark Deception 19 by BlueDragonsBum
It was raining the day I left the hospital. There was
no one waiting for me. Not a single other dragon that I had met
was there to greet me. You'd think that there would be at
least one other. Well there wasn't, and that's exactly as I
predicted. Though I didn't predict what lay in wait for me
behind Spira's door.
"Surprise!" A room full of people shouted.
Indeed I was surprised, this was something I would have never
guessed others would do for me.
"Welcome back Skyren," Spira smiled.
"How ya feeling?" Lyra asked.
"It's good to see I didn't kill all his good luck," Thirteen sneered.
"Speechless?" Lucas asked.
"Uh-well-eh-yeah," I studdered.
"They insisted on celebrating your return," he said.
"Skyren, have some cake!" Spira chuckled while handing me a plate of cake.
"I-uh-ok," I answered, unable to refuse.
After eating some cake and conversing with a few of
the party members. I looked around to see if I could
spot a certain someone.
wretched returnThe dragon lay, curled protectively around the last remaining treasure she had. Her pride. Smoke fumed from her nostrils, a clear sign of aggression and contempt. None of the shipmates dared approach her. The only common sense of theirs that seemed to remain.wretched return by dreameroftheblue
Fools, the lot of them, she thought, snorting an extra thick tendril of grey smoke.
The chains around her ankles clinked as she stood for a stretch. The attention of all loitering bipeds focused on her so quickly it was almost comical. Almost. She opened her wings and lunged forward, joints popping from lying motionless for so long. For extra show and to remind them who they were opposing, she threw open her jaws in a wide yawn. The exposition of her fearsome, stark white teeth made them all cringe further. Satisfied, she settled back into place on the numbing bars of the cage, and spit a bit of flame because she could. Not too much of course, as she had to retain as much energy as possible should they decide to turn on her
Fire and Steel -- Prologue “Dragons are common knowledge among the educated inhabitants of Sardus,” a nobleman once said.Fire and Steel -- Prologue by TheDraconian
“Kings and peasants alike are eager to tell tales of the legendary dragons,” a barman once said.
“We may as well call dragons gods. Their physical and magical abilities are limitless and enormously powerful,” a scholar once said.
The above statements are not entirely true. One does not need to be educated to know about dragons. Dragons are not legends, but facts. Though they are very powerful, they aren't quite godlike. There are some things a dragon can’t do. Otherwise, the nobleman, barman, and scholar are correct. Unfortunately, they all died centuries ago. People like them died, fathers forgot to tell sons, and eventually dragons were forgotten.
Dragons would never admit to it, but they

Chapter 1 background.
In this story I use a modification of the Multiverse theory as I understand it. My theory is that everything we come up with using our imagination is actually an account of an event from a parallel/alternative universe. This includes everything from a small lie to the best fictional stories from good old books. I cannot fully describe the multiverse but for this story imagine beads on a string radiating out in infinite directions from a centra
The Increasingly Absurd Endeavours Of Gretchen (1)I had been living here all my life, looking over the quiet valley of Upshire. This is where I have remained for many years, walled in by the prominent limestone cliffs. My abode? A stout, ramshackle cottage built from red wood and stone, an eyesore on the outside, yet cosy and warm inside, a place that could weather even the harshest of winters that the English seasons hurled my way.The Increasingly Absurd Endeavours Of Gretchen (1) by smileykaya
My name is Gretchen Goosander… Sadly I have no middle name, so I cannot tell you that. At fourteen, I am not legally supposed to be running a home all by myself, yet no-one even knows I’m out here, no-one ever bloomin’ bothered to check but, hey, the solitude is peaceful, albeit lonesome. There isn’t much to say about myself, other than the fact that I have my mother’s freckles, and also my aunt’s hell-to-tame ginger curls, which turn to frizz in even low humidity. Other than that, I am a dull person in my opinion, with no outstanding interests other than an avid collec

She felt the warmth pressed against her back. It was strange, but, nice, the other aura sleeping restfully.
Mierra made no move to push the unknown entity away, too comfortable in her bed, not to mention it was a weekend. The entity shifted and walked over Mierra, stepping on her side. She didn't move until she felt something lick her nose.
She opened her eyes and saw the cat looking at her with bright yellow eyes. She smiled and wrapped an arm around the cat, bringing it closer to her. She heard the tinkle of the cat's collar and said, “Let's find out your name shall we?”
Mierra parted the cat's neck fur until she found the collar tag and read it.
“Maddie. That sounds familiar...”
She shrugged and got out of the bed. The walls of her temporary room were maroon with brown trim and the carpet was a light beige. There was a fireplace across the room from her four poster bed with a small couch. Three doors were in the room, bathroom, laundry room, an
